Fair Park is a National Historic Landmark and Home of the State Fair of Texas Big Tex and the Texas Star (the largest Ferris wheel in the world). This 257-acre park features the Dallas Aquarium Dallas Horticulture Center and The Age of Steam Railroad Museum Texas Hall of State African-American Museum the Cotton Bowl The Texas Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Smithsonian’s Women’s Museum. Fair Park is cited by The National Trust of Historic Preservation as one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in America and houses such architectural treasures as the Grand Hall of State and the Historic buildings surrounding the promenade. It features high-tech interactive exhibits and ongoing educational programs such as "The Electronic Quilt"; more than 30 feet high and made of a matrix of thirty-five image "patches" of illuminated photos quotes and video cubes it is comprised of images and words extracted from all areas of the permanent exhibits.
